San Francisco policy report

On July 24, San Francisco’s Budget and Legislative Analyst Office (BLA) released a policy analysis report that details the costs and benefits of creating public banks and outlines a path to proceed. Long time PBI advocate Karl Beitel was a principal writer.

Among the conclusions:

“With our model, the municipal financial corporation (MFC) would be profitable immediately at the point of commencing operations, due to the nature of the funding arrangements with the City.”
